The Classic Material mind-squad, alongside Nakturnal and Black Gold, present a very special 2 year Anniversary edition of CM with one of the top 5 producers/dj's in the game, the legendary Pete Rock (Pete Rock & CL Smooth)

We have honored Pete and several of his peers by simply showcasing their respective catalogs in tribute form. This time we decided to go a bit further and actually bring Pete out to rock (pun fully intended) a set in the intimate space that is the Shadow Lounge. Catch him here in Pittsburgh right before he embarks on the 20+ city Rock The Bells Tour!

*****Along with groups such as Stetsasonic, A Tribe Called Quest, The Roots and Gang Starr, Rock played a major role in the merging of elements from jazz into hip hop music (also known as jazz rap). He is widely recognized as one of the greatest hip hop producers of all time, and is often mentioned alongside DJ Premier and RZA as one of the mainstays of 1990s East Coast hip hop production*****

Former PGH resident and 1/2 of the crew Lone Catalysts ( with J. Rawls) will serve as host for the night. Sands will be performing a few of his classics, segueing into Pete's 2 and Half Hour set of turntable wizardry.

Hometown Fave Boaz (www.myspace.com/boazgov) is also going to stop by to drop some of his new material + surprise cameos by local legends, spanning the last 20 years of the PGH Hiip-Hop scene

As always, Selecta, SMI (who will be celebrating a milestone B-Day that night) and Vex provide the musical backdrop, pre Pete, with the normal CM blend of current and future classics
