WAMO 106er's VS Petra Ministries

On Saturday, February 24, 2007 the men of the Young Adult Ministry, in conjunction with Petra International Ministries, and the WAMO 106ers basketball team will hosted a charity basketball game at Wilkinsburg High School in celebration of Black History Month. The festivities included a step performance by the Imani Steppers (from Imani Christian Academy of the East Hills community), Black History Month trivia, half court shoot out, dance contest and raffle.

Celebrity coach for Petra's Young Adult Ministry (Y.A.M.) team was news anchor Vince Sims of WPXI -TV. Proceeds benefitedwill benefit the Young Adult Ministry for Petra International Ministries (235 Eastgate Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15235).

The Young Adult Ministry is a group of young adults between the ages of 18 and 35 coming together to fellowship regardless if they have a church home or not.

"This event will not only get people together to acknowledge the history and successes of African American leaders that paved the way for us to live a free life, but for us to continue their legacy with appreciation, fellowship and fun!" says Ki Ki, of WAMO 106.7 FM, who will also be the host for the game. "I'm a member of Petra and I work at WAMO radio; two powerful and positive influences in the African American community and I'm proud to be a part of them both!
