ACHIEVEMENT
IN RADIO
Brotha
Ash Productions congratulates WAMO
106.7FM for winning 2 A.I.R. Awards. WAMO
106.7FM was the ONLY
BLACK RADIO STATION
nominated
for 10 awards and 2 wins. The Pittsburgh 's Eleventh Annual
Achievement In Radio Awards is an industry-wide competition that
honors the hard work, creativity and quality of radio in the greater
Pittsburgh market, while supporting the work of the March of Dimes.
The A.I.R. Awards is an opportunity for both stations and advertisers
to receive recognition for the work they do all year round. Whether
you want to enter a single commercial, an entire campaign, a morning
show or a newscast, we think you'll find just the right category.
We are also pleased to announce that the competition is again being
expanded to include those stations outside of the Pittsburgh Metro
Survey Area. From Erie to Altoona , stations will have the chance
to enter their work for recognition in the Regional A.I.R. Awards.

CHECK
OUT WHAT THEY HAD TO SAY ABOUT THEIR WINS BELOW
Ki-Ki
from WAMO 106.7FM - Winner of the 2006 AIR AWARD (Achievement In
Radio) for BEST MIDDAY SHOW on a MUSIC STATION: I was
totally shocked when they mentioned my name! I totally thought that
I wouldn't win and it still hasn't set in. I guess it's because
I don't see myself in that way. I enjoy what I do and my award is
being available to my audience that listen to me everyday from 10A-3P.
I give them ALL of me everyday and sometimes that can be good and
bad in a way. Like when I'm in a grocery store and someone asks
me for a shout out or a t-shirt, I'm like "Dang! I'm just here
to get some eggs and bread! Call me tomorrow" (laughing) But
seriously, I work for a great organization that rarely gets the
recognition it deserves. The community deserves it and we appreciate
the community for their continued support! I'm truly honored to
be where I am today!
KODE
WRED - Winner of the 2006 AIR AWARD (Achievement In Radio) for BEST
NEW TALENT
"I really feel blessed to still be doing what I really love
to do. I have been here at the station nine years, and to
continue to be passionate about what you do is a pure blessing.
I am extremely fortunate to be working with J-Kruz. He is a VERY
talented person and he inspires me more than he even knows. I have
learned so much from everyone I have came in contact with here at
the radio station and the connection we have with all the beautiful
listeners. I can't stress enough how blessed I am."
J-Kruz
- Winner of the 2006 AIR AWARD (Achievement In Radio) for BEST NEW
TALENT
"I like to say I was really surprised and I didn't think we
were going to win. I was honored to win the award. It was for a
good cause - The March of Dimes." When he won the award, he
jokingly said, "I want to shoutout all my Latino's in Pittsburgh,
all three of you." I met alot of important people in radio,
so I definitely want to participate next year and I hope we win
the "Best Evening Show". The award they won this was Best
New Talent in the market.
