The 1st Anniversary of Michael Jackson's Death
WORLD'S GREATEST ENTERTAINER
THE DEATH OF MICHAEL JACKSON
IS RULED A HOMICIDE

MESSAGE FROM BROTHA ASH: One year ago today, June 25, 2010, the death of Michael Jackson has shocked us all. I was updating my website when I heard the news that he had a heart attack about 5:30pm. Fifteen minutes later, I heard that Michael Jackson died and I said to myself that this could not be true. When he was going through health problems a few months back, we all found out that it was a hoax, so I thought that this might be another stunt. Once reality set in and I realized that the information I heard was true about his death, I lost it. Anyone who knows me is in touch with my connection to Michael Jackson. I danced as a child with my step-brothers Anthony and Bryan Dixon (Mini-Globe Steppers) and then performed alone, while all the while dancing to Michael's music. I still play his music today as if it just came out yesterday because it sounds so fresh and up to date. I will continue to play and listen to his music for the rest of my life. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family because I know that he was backbone to the family and they have lost a true genius.

Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer and businessman. Referred to as the "King of Pop"[2] in subsequent years, his 1982 Thriller is the world's best-selling record of all time[3] and four other solo studio albums are also among the world's best-selling records: Off the Wall (1979), Bad (1987), Dangerous (1991) and HIStory (1995).

In the early 1980s, he became a dominant figure in popular music and the first African-American entertainer to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. The popularity of his music videos airing on MTV, such as "Beat It", "Billie Jean" and Thriller—widely credited with transforming the music video from a promotional tool into an art form—helped bring the relatively new channel to fame. Videos such as "Black or White" and "Scream" made Jackson an enduring staple on MTV in the 1990s. With stage performances and music videos, Jackson popularized a number of physically complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical sound and vocal style influenced many hip hop, pop and contemporary R&B artists.......read more.
