Summer Jam 2006 was one of the best events I've been to in
quite sometime. From beginning to end it was one great adventure
after another. When I arrived, Yung Joc took the stage and ripped
the mike without fail. The crowd was going so crazy that the
show had to be stopped for a second to get everyone back in line.
Shawna,
Ray J, and Marques Houston followed with their sets which were phenomenal
as well. Then along comes Lil Scrappy
who gave one of the best performances of the Summer Jam.
This young hip hop star really knows how to capture an audience.
The crowd was so hyped when he performed his smash hit "No
Problem" that it was a rap after that. Scrappy's crew had bottles
of water that drenched the first few rows of the audience, and
yes I got wet for the cause too.
Unlike
the other acts, Scrappy mingled, signed autographs, tooks pictures
and talked with fans after his performance. Finally, the head-liner,
T.I. aka "King of the South", took the stage and
gave the fans just what they were looking for - a great show. He
performed one hit after another and said, "I came from having
nothing and I am grateful for all of your support". He continued,
"People want to know why I call myself the king? Because I
want to." During the whole event, WAMO had control of the crowd
so things did not get of out hand.
